Hernan Crespo's agent revealed that the Inter Milan striker could be set for a recall by Chelsea, who have the right to retain the player's services at the end of the season. The English champions added a 'Buy Back' clause to Crespo's contract with Inter which enables the London club to get him back at the end of the first season. Crespo's agent Fernando Hidalgo confirmed recent Italian reports linking the Argentine striker with a Blues return despite the player's desire to remain in Italy with Inter and also the Italian club's willingness to keep him. "Chelsea seem to have the intention to take him back to London," Hidalgo told Corriere dello Sport on Monday.
But will he return to Stamford Bridge? "If this was the case there would be nothing to do, due to the fact Roman Abramovich's side own the player.” Chelsea had agreed to release the Argentine international on a free transfer at the start of the season after the player stated his desire to leave Stamford Bridge on more than one occasion. "They have only loaned him for two seasons to Inter. Should in June they want to take him back, then they will not be leaving him in Italy for a second year." Crespo scored nine goals with the Serie A leaders this season but the 32-year-old. Reports suggest that, as an incentive for Crespo, Chelsea are prepared to give him a one-year extension to his contract which runs out in 2008.
