PAOK Saloniki, whom Egyptian defender Amir Azmi plays for, were knocked-out of the Greek Cup after suffering a 3-1 defeat to Panathinaikos in the quarter-final's second-leg. PAOK won the first-leg 2-1 at home but Panathinaikos leveled the aggregate score in the second-leg before sealing the victory in extra time. Andreas Ivanschitz put Panathinaikos ahead five minutes before the break and Vangelis Mantzios doubled the lead three minutes past the hour mark. Georgios Georgiadis pulled one back in stoppage time as the match needed an extra-time to determine the winner. Mantzios notched home five minutes into the extra time's first-half to help Panathinaikos book a place in the competition's semi-final. Azmi made the starting line-up but was replaced in the 70th minute.
