Hosts Congo got their African Youth Championship off to a winning start with a 2-0 victory over Ivory Coast in Brazzaville on Saturday. Fabrice Ondama notched a brace in the 55th and 65th minutes to help Congo start the African Youth Championship in style. The result put Congo on top of Group A with three points, on level with Gambia who registered a 2-0 win over Burkina Faso. Jallow Osman opened the score line two minutes past the hour mark before Abdoulaye Kenmansally doubled the lead three minutes later. Egypt open their Youth Championship campaign against Cameroon in Group B action on Sunday.
