Cameroon defeated DR Congo 2-0 in their African Cup of Nations (ACN) Group B final-round match that took place on Sunday. Geremi Njitap opened the score for Cameroon in the 30th minute before Samuel Eto'o secured his side's passage to the African Cup quarter-finals three minutes later. Cameroon will next face Ivory Coast in the quarter-finals on Saturday, after topping Group B with a tally of nine points, while DR Congo will play against Egypt on Friday after coming at second place in the Group standings with four points. Both sides put minimal performances throughout the first-half before Njitap broke the deadlock with a powerful strike from a spot-kick that blazed straight into DR Congo's net on the half-hour mark. Eto'o doubled Cameroon's lead and secured their victory when he connected a Njitap cross to sail home after rebounding off the post and the DR Congo goalkeeper's head in the 33rd minute. The match also witnessed DR Congo defender Gladys Bokese receive his marching orders in the 70th minute after physically assaulting Cameroonian striker Pierre Webo. On the other hand, the Egyptian national team, along with Mr.Gamal Mubarak attended the match, but left early after confirming their match against DR Congo in the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, Egyptian club Ahli striker Flavio Amado lead his side to a 3-2 victory over Togo after netting a magnificent brace. Flavio put Angola in the lead early in the 10th minute before Abdelkader Cougbadja pulled one back for Togo in the 24th minute, before receiving his marching orders in the 30th minute. Flavio grabbed the lead for Angola once again in the 39th minute when Mamam Cherif Toure grabbed the equalizer in the 67th minute before Norberto Mulenessa sealed Angola's victory with a goal three minutes before full-time. Both Angola, who came at third-place in Group B's standings with a tally of four points behind DR Congo on goal difference, and Togo exited the African Cup.
