Preview-Cameroon and Togo look to secure second-round qualification
Published in FilGoal on 25 - 01 - 2006

Cameroon and DR Congo will look to book the two qualifying Group B tickets to the African Cup of Nations (ACN) quarter-finals when they play against Togo and Angola respectively on Wednesday.
African Cup favourites Cameroon are hopeful they can defeat Togo, who qualified to the 2006 World Cup in Germany, to raise their tally to six points, especially given Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o's excelled performance in the competition.
Eto'o, who secured Camroon's 3-1 victory over Angola after netting a superb hat-trick, leads the top-scorers list alongside Tunisia stiker Francileudo Dos Santos.
Togo star Emmanuel Adebayor is expected to feature in the starting line-up after settling his despite with coach Stephen Keshi, following a row that almost saw the Arsenal new-signing walk out from the African Cup.
On the other hand, DR Congo will try to grab the remaining qualifying spot in their equal-sided match against Angola that will feature Portsmouth star Lomana Tresor Lualua, after defeating Togo 2-0 in their opening match.
Meanwhile, Angola midfielder Edson Nobra insisted that his side's encounter against DR Congo was crucial for them to continue on the African Cup and avoid being frustrated before the launch of their 2006 World Cup campaign.
Cameroon and DR Congo come in first and second-place in Group B standings with the same point tally, but different on goal difference, while Togo and Angola come at third place with no points.
