Military Academy Stadium-Nasry Esmat: Cameroon coach Artur Jorge said that a potential clash with hosts Egypt in the second round of the African Nations Cup would be very tough for his side. Cameroon booked their ticket to the African Cup second round after beating Togo 2-0 in their Group B match, on Wednesday. “It's feasible that we face Egypt in the quarter-finals, and if we do, it will be very hard for us since the Egyptian team is very strong and will be powered by their countless supporters,” Jorge told a press conference after the game. The Indomitable Lions are in charge of their group on 6 points and are tipped to finish as winners. “Egypt denied us a place in Germany when they held us to a draw in the final World Cup qualifier in Yaoundé,” he added. Egypt are in second place of their Group A on 4 points and need a victory over Ivory Coast in the final group match to avoid a potential clash with Cameroon.
Togo manager Stephan Keshi The Portuguese manager commented on Wednesday's victory. "This was an important victory for Cameroon, it took us to the quarter-finals. We hope to keep winning," Jorge said. "We hope to win the cup, it would be very important for us." Jorge's Togo opposite number, Stephen Keshi, said his side was unlucky to lose and exit the competition at such an early stage. Togo did not manage a single point or score a single goal in their first two matches to bid the tournament farewell from the first round. Asked whether his fall out with star striker Emmanuel Adebayor affected Togo's performance Keshi said: “Definitely not, we settled that issue already and he played and did well.” Keshi's future with the Togolese team has come under scrutiny, and whether the coach will lead the team in the World Cup finals in Germany is uncertain. “Will I resign? That is a question for the (Togolese) federation not for me,” the Nigerian stated.
