Ismaili striker Mohamed Fadl believes his side's victory over African champions Ahli has revived their hopes of competing for the Egyptian League title. Fadl notched twice against his former club to help Ismaili crush Ahli 3-0 away from home and put an end to the Cairo giants' two-year unbeaten record. "Any result other than win over Ahli would have killed off our hopes but now we have a chance of winning the league title," Fadl told FilGoal.com on Friday. The 26-year-old's comments contradict the opinion of teammate Sayed Moawad, who recently played down Ismaili's league chances. "Beating Ahli gave us some hope but it is difficult that Ahli slip up again unless they replicate the poor form they showed against us," Moawad said on Monday. Ahli are on top of the league table with 44 points, six ahead of second-placed Ismaili. Fadl defended his celebrations after scoring against Ahli whose fans were furious with the player's actions. "I'm not the type of players who hide their emotions, but I respect those who remain calm out of respect to the fans," he said.
