Egyptian defenders Ibrahim Saied and Ahmed Fathi took part in Sheffield United's training session on Monday. Both players are undergoing a week-long trial period with the Premiership club that is interested in signing them during the winter transfer window. Zamalek defender Saied said he was happy with his first appearance with the Blades. “I did well in the first session on Monday,” Saied told FilGoal.com in a phone interview from England.
Fathi “I played in the defensive midfielder position and scored two goals while Fathi played in his usual position as right-back.” Saied noted that Sheffield coach Neil Warnock did not attend the training session on Monday but is set to overlook Tuesday's practice. The 27-year-old defender, who was part of Egypt's African Nations Cup winning squad last February, said that he already has a back up offer in case Warnock decides not to sign him. “I have another offer from Germany,” said the former Ahli player. “But I won't reveal anything else until I know my status with Sheffield.”
