Egypt international winger Ahmed Fathi scored a goal as Sheffield United beat Leeds United 2-0 in an exhibition game on Wednesday. Fathi and Egypt teammate Ibrahim Saied are currently undergoing a trial period with the Blades and coach Neil Warnock saw it was important to field them against Leeds. Both players impressed as Fathi found the net with a brilliant left-footer from the edge of the area while Saied came close from scoring twice.
Saied Saied revealed to FilGoal.com in a phone interview after the game that Warnock was happy with his performance and that of Fathi. The Zamalek defender said that he and Fathi will have two more training sessions with Sheffield before returning to Cairo on Saturday and that chances of them completing the move in January have increased. Sheffield chairman Kevin McCabe has set a 7 million sterling pound budget for the team's winter transfer season.
