Wonder kid Dos Santos named in Barca's World Cup squad
Published in FilGoal on 28 - 11 - 2006

Mexican teenager Giovani Dos Santos has earned on Tuesday a place in Barcelona's squad for the Club World Cup in December alongside two others youth-team players.
The 23-man squad that was published on the club's website also included youngsters Marc Crosas and goalkeeper Ruben Martinez.
Dubbed as the new Ronaldinho for his agility and skills, Dos Santos has helped his Under-17 national side win the World Cup in Peru last year.
He has been in an outstanding form with the youth team in Barcelona and is currently tipped to be promoted to the first team if he impressed in Japan.
The European champions are short up front after last season's Spanish League top scorer Samuel Eto'o and Argentinean prodigy Lionel Messi were hit by long-term injuries.
Argentina's Javier Saviola, who is currently injured but expected to be fit for the tournament, was also selected for the seven-day tournament.
Egyptian and African Champions Ahli represent the Dark Continent and will face New Zealand's Auckland City in the opener.
Chonbuk Motors of South Korea, Mexico's America and Brazilian side Internacional will also participate in the championship.
The Full Squad:
Goalkeepers: Victor Valdes, Albert Jorquera, Ruben Martinez.
Defenders: Juliano Belletti, Rafael Marquez, Carles Puyol, Gianluca Zambrotta, Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Jose Edmilson, Sylvinho, Lilian Thuram, Oleguer.
Midfielders: Thiago Motta, Xavi Hernandez, Deco, Andres Iniesta, Marc Crosas.
Forwards: Eidur Gudjohnsen, Ludovic Giuly, Ronaldinho, Santi Ezquerro, Javier Saviola, Giovani Dos Santos.
