Defending midfielder Mathieu Flamini and center-backs Kolo Toure and William Gallas turned into scorers on Sunday as Arsenal crushed Liverpool 3-0 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday. Arsenal's sixth victory fired them into third place of the Premiership table with 21 points with one match in hand while Liverpool were left ninth on 17 points. Liverpool had two goals from Peter Crouch and Craig Bellamy canceled due to offside while a Robin van Persie effort was disallowed because he handled the ball before poking home. The television replays proved that the three debatable calls were correct. Frenchman Flamini, making his first Premiership start this season, opened the score line four minutes before the interval when he slid a low cross from Cesc Fabregas past challenging goalkeeper Jose Reina. Arsenal went two up in the 56th minute when Toure rallied across the pitch to have a brilliant give-and-go with Van Persie before sending a delicate finish home in a one-on-one position with the helpless keeper.
Flamini In the 80th minute, unmarked Gallas put the last pin in Liverpool's coffin, heading into the back of the net from Van Persie's inch-perfect corner. Earlier on the same day, Tottenham Hotspur, whom Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' and Hossam Ghaly play for, lost 3-1 to Reading. Robbie Keane put Tottenham ahead in the 24th minute from the spot but three consecutive goals from Nicky Shorey, Steve Sidwell and Kevin Doyle finished off the visitors. Reading leapfrogged the Spurs into 11th spot on 16 points, a point and one place ahead of the Egyptian duo's side. Ghaly played the whole game yet he hardly had an impact while Mido didn't take part in the game.
