Werder Bremen crushed Bochum 6-0 in the Bundesliga on Saturday to clinch the league summit on goal difference ahead of Bayern Munich who coasted past Hertha Berlin 4-2. The victories raised both Bremen and Bayern point tally to 13, with the first enjoying five more goals to their name. Bremen, playing without Egypt's injured forward Mohamed Zidan, took an early lead through Aaron Hunt who tapped home in the seventh minute. But the visitors had to wait until the 60th minute when Christian Schulz stretched the lead. The floodgates opened starting from the 75th minute when Jurica Vranjes, Diego, Clemens Fritz and Naldo scored back-to-back goals to register the big victory. In Munich, Bayern Munich enjoyed their biggest victory in the league so far and ended Hertha's unbeaten run as they scooped a 4-2 triumph. The defending champions began with a bold attacking formation, with Roy Makaay, Lukas Podolski and Claudio Pizarro all up front. The trio scored goals while French right-back Willy Sagnol added the fourth. Malik Fathi and Marko Pantelic notched consolation goals for Hertha at the Allinaz arena.
