Chelsea need to improve, says Mourinho
Published in FilGoal on 28 - 09 - 2006

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has dismissed his side's top ranking after the UEFA Champions League win over Levski Sofia and called for a need to improve.
Chelsea saw themselves coast to a 3-1 win after Didier Drogba's hat-trick sealed the game in their favor and put them atop Group A with a perfect six points from two matches.
"For me being top of the group at the moment is not important," he was quoted as saying by Sky Sports in the post-game conference.
"It is the six points that is the most important. Now I think four or five more points will be enough and that is the first objective."
The Portuguese manager talked about Chelsea's need to improve and play out the entire ninety minutes at the same rate.
"We need to improve though because the last 15 minutes were disappointing.
"We should have played better in the closing stages and scored more goals with Arjen Robben and Salomon Kalou and Shaun Wright-Philips on the pitch."
Mourinho's mind is already on the next challenge, back-to-back games against Barcelona and a visit to Bremen, who held the title holders to a 1-1 draw.

Mourinho
"We have to go to Barcelona and Bremen, two difficult matches. We are not playing super football, still some players with room to improve but still we are okay."
If Mourinho's men can win the matches against Barcelona, they will have sealed a place in the qualifications, but the Portuguese coach remains pragmatic.
The Chelsea boss had nothing but praise for his African sensations John Obi Mikel and Didier Drogba, who scored the treble that sealed the Blues' victory.
"He plays so simple that it looks easy. But the difficulty is to play this type of football and the boy is very good," he said of Nigerian Mikel.
As for Drogba, Mourinho said: "He has scored goals in England, scored in Europe and playing very well so it is a beautiful moment for him."
Mourinho also stood up for the mis-firing Andriy Shevchenko.
"Yes, he (Shevchenko) needs a goal. But when he is not scoring goals, the next game he always plays for me," said the former Porto manager.
"Until he scores a goal, he is always in my line-up. One game more, two, three, four or five, he will start until he scores."
