Egyptian champions Ahli said they will not pursue legal action against Mahmoud Abdul-Razeq 'Shikabala' for breach of contract, club marketing director Adli Al-Qaeyi said. The PAOK player signed a contract with Ahli before joining local rivals Zamalek on-loan from his Greek club. "The club has decided to close Shikabala's case because we aren't interested in signing a player who doesn't live up to his commitments," Al-Qaeyi told FilGoal.com in an exclusive interview on Monday. "We won't wait for FIFA's ruling, because even if they rule in favor of Ahli, we don't want him to join us, and that's final.
Adli Al-Qaeyi "Let him join whichever club he wants," added Al-Qaeyi. Al-Qaeyi insisted the African champions will not pursue legal action against the player or even file a complaint to FIFA or the Egyptian Football Association (EFA). "We won't take any action against Shikabala, even though we have the documents that prove he signed for Ahli," he said. "There is no point of pursuing the matter, because we won't benefit from his suspension or any fine imposed on him. "We have more important issues to attend to, like the African Champions League that reached its finals stages," Al-Qaeyi added.
