Spain forward Jose Antonio Reyes' move to Read Madrid depends on whether he plays for Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League third round qualifier against Dinamo Zagreb on Tuesday, his agent said. "If he plays against Dinamo Zagreb it will complicate the move because Real Madrid do not want to invest a large sum in a player who cannot play in the Champions League," Rodriguez de Moya was quoted as saying by BBC Sports. The 22-year-old has been included by Arsene Wenger in Arsenal's squad list. If he plays in the Champions League qualifier, he will be cup-tied for the rest of the competition, reducing his value on the market. Reyes has been linked with Real Madrid throughout the summer, and has publicly stated that he would like to move back to Spain. De Moya has said that the move is now up to the final negotiations of the two clubs. "It's an open secret that Jose Antonio wants to play for Real Madrid," he said. "He is very happy at Arsenal because they have treated him very well, but he misses home and has always made that clear. "It appears that the clubs have begun talking and we are waiting to see if they reach an agreement."
Wenger Real Madrid have been searching the market after failing to sign Brazilian midfielder Kaka, Chelsea winger Arjen Robben and Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas earlier this summer. Despite De Moya's speculation, if Arsenal use Reyes, his value to Real Madrid will plummet, as will the price they are willing to pay for him. Still, none of these factors seem to bother Wenger, who told Arsenal's official website that he will use Reyes if he chooses. "I extended Jose's contract last year, so that is quite clear about how I regard his future at Arsenal Football Club," he said. "He is in the squad for Zagreb and if I decide to play him, he will play. There is no problem." Wenger also denied having been told that Reyes would like to return to Spain, claiming the Spanish media have jumped the gun again. "It does not come from him," Wenger said. "It comes out from Spain. What can I do to stop that? "I have read everything on one side, and also the opposite as well. But [the Spanish media] have announced me having signed at Real Madrid before and since that I have at least one concrete experience that [shows] you cannot trust them."
