Masri have appointed Mohamed 'Mimi' Abdul-Razek as a caretaker coach, replacing Mohamed Salah who quit just days before the start of the new season. Abdul-Razek, who is the head of the youth sector in the Port Said club will be assisted by former star Tarek Al-Sawi and the pair will lead the football team till the appointment of a permanent foreign coach. Egyptian reports suggested that Masri's quest to hire Smouha coach Shaker Abdul-Fattah as new coach was halted after the second-division club refused to release him. Meanwhile, an Austrian-based Egyptian football marketing agency recommended Masri two Portuguese managers to take over. Four Steps Football Management recommended both Jose Teixeira and Mario Dominguez Da Silva as possible future Masri coaches, according to marketing director Ahmed Al-Rifaee.
