Italian side Fiorentina have insisted that striker Luca Toni will leave the club only for the right price, the club's sporting director Pantaleo Corvino said on Tuesday. "If someone wants to buy an exceptional player then they have to make a very important offer," Corvino was quoted as saying by Corriere dello Sport newspaper. "If the offer is appropriate, then it's easy to close the deal very quickly," he added. Toni, who was part of Italy's World Cup winning squad, was linked with a move away from Fiorentina after the Italian side was sanctioned in the Italian match-fixing scandal. Fiorentina were initially demoted to Serie B, but they successfully appealed to return back to the top flight with a 19 point penalty. Inter Milan are frontrunners to land the 29-year-old striker, but Corvino was unhappy with Nerazzurri's approach to the deal. "I don't think Inter are really interested in the player. I don't need to teach anything to anybody, but I don't think you should cause any trouble if you don't really want a player." Corvino believes Toni should be valued properly, citing Andriy Shevchenko's move to English champions Chelsea as an example. "When interested in champions, you have to behave like (Chelsea owner) Roman Abramovich did with Milan for Andriy Shevchenko." "He put a cheque for Silvio Berlusconi in the striker's hand and that was it," he added.
