France coach Raymond Domenech said he is confident his side will beat Togo and progress to the second round of the World Cup, BBC reported on Thursday. “I am not pessimistic - we are here to qualify. I am looking ahead to the future and we will be much better against Togo,” Domenech said. Les Blues need to win by two goals without conceding to ensure their place in the last 16 as they lie third in Group G with two points, while Switzerland and South Korea are in first and second place respectively with four points each. France failed to make up for their disappointing exit from the first round in the 2002 World Cup after their two successive draws with Switzerland and Korea. Arsenal striker Thierry Henry believes France will not repeat the 2002 embarrassment, noting that World Cup debutants Togo are easy to deal with. "It should be the easiest game of the group against Togo and we are going to try to take advantage of that,” he said. "In 2002 we did not create anything at all and that's why we went home. This time we are definitely better, in particular in attack,” he added.
