Franch coach Raymond Domenech confirmed he will only call the World Cup 23-man squad to a training camp at the end of May, Sky Sports reported on Thursday. The French coach said there was no need to include players who probably will not take part in the WC, as the deadline for submitting the squad is on the 15th of May. "I had a long thought, and told myself it was not necessarily good to bring the fringe players who will have to rely on injuries to participate in the World Cup," Domenech told French radio station RTL. "To say to seven players 'you will bring the cases and we will put you aside during the training sessions' would be impossible," he added. Domenech is set to announce France's first choice goalkeeper in the WC after his side's friendly against Denmark at the beginning of June. Lyon keeper Gregory Coupet and Marseille's Fabien Barthez are competing for the number one shirt.
