Both Argentina and Holland gave mediocre performances in the lack-lustre match that saw a host of chances squandered from both sides. The Argentines came close to score twice in the first-half when Juan Roman Riquelme fired a free-kick against the post, while Maxi Rodriguez sent a throbbing shot just inches away from the Dutch net.

Both Ivory Coast and Serbia have exited the World Cup after placing third and fourth with three points and nil, respectively.
