The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) confirmed that the Egyptian Super Cup will not be canceled in case Ahli win the Egyptian Cup title. EFA spokesman Medhat Shalabi told FilGoal.com on Thursday that the Super Cup, which will take place on July 23rd, will be between Ahli and Zamalek. EFA regulations state that if a club wins the Egyptian League and Cup double, the Super Cup game would be held between the double winner and the league runners up. Ahli, who were crowned league champions for the second successive year this season, face league runners up Zamalek in the cup final on Friday. Shalabi refuted reports that Ahli will be automatically awarded the Sup Cup title, noting that the game will be held regardless of who wins the Egyptian Cup title on Friday. The Super Cup game will be the sixth meeting between the Cairo rivals this season, an unprecedented occasion in Egyptian football history.
