Inter Milan duo Walter Samuel and Javier Zanetti were dropped off from Argentina coach Jose Pekerman's final squad for the World Cup in Germany, which kicks-off on June ninth. Pekerman's squad also offers one more surprises, with the inclusion of several players who played in Argentina's U-20 winning team in last year's FIFA World Youth Championship, including Barcelona's rising star Lionel Messi. "There is a permanent evolution with footballers. Several of the U-20 footballers have made themselves noticed," Pekerman was quoted as saying by the official FIFA website. "Before it would have been impossible for players of this category to come into the A team," he added. Other than that, the squad remains as close as possible to what was predicted with the presence of Villarreal duo Juan Pablo Sorin and Juan Roman Riquelme, Sevilla's Javier Saviola and Manchester United's Gabriel Heinze. Argentina kick-off their World Cup campaign against Ivory Coast on June 10th before facing Serbia and Montenegro, then going on to play against Holland.
