Inter Milan recovered from a one-goal deficit to beat Villarreal 2-1 at home in their UEFA Champions League match on Wednesday. Diego Forlan stunned the home crowd when he poked home after just 45 seconds but Brazilian striker Adriano and substitute Obafemi Martins found the net to secure the victory. Despite the defeat, Villarreal's Champions League hopes are still alive as they need only a 1-0 win in the second leg at home next week to reach the semis. Uruguayan striker Forlan gave Villarreal an early lead when he scored on the rebound after Inter keeper Francesco Toldo parried Jose Mari's initial shot into his path. But Adriano equalized after only six minutes when he scuffed a loose ball into the area with his back to the goal, spun around and fired home. Martins, who replaced Alvaro Recoba in the 27th minute, put Inter one up in the 54th minute when he connected with a Dejan Stankovic cross and tapped in from close range.
