Inter Milan won the Italian Cup for the second successive season after beating AS Roma 3-1 at the Giuseppe Meazza in the final's return-leg on Thursday. First-half goals from Argentinean duo Esteban Cambiasso and Julio Cruz gave Inter the advantage before Nigerian striker Obafemi Martins added the third. Substitute Shabani Nonda pulled one back for the visitors ten minutes from time. The Nerazzurri secured their second consecutive Italian Cup title, under coach Roberto Mancini, with a 4-2 aggregate score as the first-leg ended in a 1-1 draw. Cambiasso broke the deadlock early in the sixth minute after he received Javier Zanetti's cross on the edge of the area with a stunning volley into the back of the net. Cruz extended the lead just before the break when he dribbled into the area before rounding Roma keeper Alexander Doni and slotting the ball into the empty net. Nigerian international Martins, who came as a substitute to Brazilian striker Adriano, killed off Roma's hopes in the 68th minute with a third goal from close-range after he was set-up by Cruz. Congolese Nonda scored the consolation for Roma as he connected with Francesco Totti's inch-perfect cross to head home.
