Hamburg beat Eintracht Frankfurt 2-1 on Sunday in the Bundesliga to keep leaders Bayern Munich in sight. Piotr Trochowski put Hamburg ahead in the 20th minute after being fed by Sergej Barbarez. The hosts leveled three minute from the break when Alexander Mayer's' header deflected off Belgian defender Daniel Van Buyten into the back of the net. Van Buyten restored the lead seven minutes after re-start after converting a neat cross from Trochowski past the goalkeeper. Hamburg now have 47 points, narrowing the gap with Bayern to only eight points. Eintracht were left in the 11th spot with 25th minute. In another match, Danijel Ljuboja and Christian Tiffert scored to give Stuttgart a 2-1 victory over Mainz. Antonio Da Silva gave the guests some respectability with a long-range strike.
