Published in FilGoal on 31 - 12 - 2005

Egypt clinched the LG friendly tournament title after defeating Senegal 4-1 in the spectacular finale that took place on Thursday in the totally revamped Cairo International Stadium.
Frederic Mendy opened the score for Senegal in the second minute of the match before Hassan Mostafa levelled for Egypt twelve minutes later and Emad Motab doubled the lead with a 22nd minute goal.
Senegal equalized five minutes after the break thanks to a Mamadou Luneh goal before Amr Zaki fired home in the 86th minute. Egypt secured their victory with their fourth goal from a Senegal own-goal in the dying minutes of the match.
The Pharaohs won $50,000 for clinching the title, second-place Senegal received $30,000 while Uganda won $20,000 after coming in third place.
Mendy gave Senegal the lead with an amazing back-shot before Mostafa levelled for Egypt after just twelve minutes with a throbbing shot just on the edge of the box.
Motab gave Egypt the lead with an amazing header from a Mohamed Abdel-Wahab cross in the 22nd minute before Senegal equalized in the 50th minute with a Mamadou low-shot that went straight into the Egyptian net.
Zaki put Egypt upfront once again when he fired home his third goal in two games in the 86th minutes before a Senegalese defender Mamadou Camara intercepted a Amr Zaki cross to net the ball into his own side to secure Egypt's victory.
