Coach Carlo Ancelotti said on Thursday that he will stay in charge of AC Milan for four more years, putting an end to rumors claiming he will be sacked at the end of the season. “I have been here for four years and will stay for the next four,” Ancelotti was quoted by Football Italia magazine as saying to Rai Sport. “I can only laugh at these rumors, as I have the good fortune to enjoy such a special relationship with my club," he added. Ancelotti's position with the Rossoneri has come under intense scrutiny after ending last season trophy-less and producing disappointing results in Serie A this season. "Nobody knows how clear, affectionate and honest our rapport is. Therefore, all this talk from outsiders doesn't interest me in the slightest." Ancelotti said. The 46-year-old coach said he is partially satisfied with his team's display in 2005 despite ending the season without any silverware. “It has been a positive 2005 in a certain sense, as we reached the finish line in every tournament and proved ourselves to be competitive. It didn't go well in the end, but we gave it our all," he said. Ancelotti highlighted his goals for this season both on the local and continental fronts. “We want to reach the next European Cup Final in Paris and we'll see what happens then,” Ancelotti said. "As for the Scudetto race, we need to close the gap by a few points and hope Juve slow down a little," he added. Milan are in third place in the Serie A table on 37 points, nine points adrift of pace-setters Juventus.
