Hassam Hamdi and his board has been sacked by minister of Sports Taher Abou-Zeid as Adel Heikal was named interim chairman. The Egyptian ministry of sports announced on Saturday that Hamdi's board was dismantled after the end of its time in charge. Most importantly, the Hamdi board will be subjected to criminal prosecution due to 'numerous financial infringements'. Hamdi, 64, has been in charge of Ahli since the death of legendary chairman Saleh Selim in 2002. Former goalkeeper Heikal crew includes one football figure in ex-Egypt defender Mostafa Youness.
