Zamalek succumbed to a 1-0 home defeat to Ismaili in the Egyptian Premier League third week, courtesy of a thumping goal from Ibrahim Hassan. Youngster Hassan, who was released by Zamalek last year to join Ismaili, punished his former club with an unstoppable long-range effort on the half-hour. Playing without their captain and influential keeper Abdul-Wahed Al-Sayed, Zamalek almost conceded again when Omar Gaber gave away a silly penalty in the second half.
