Performance of the week An unlikely source of goals for Lierse; left-back Ahmed Samir Farag had to earn it this week with a well-taken free-kick goal that completed a 2-1 comeback Belgian league win against Charleroi. Unlucky Salah, Ghazal off Egypt ace Mohamed Salah was unlucky to see a big penalty shout turned down by the ref after being obviously felled inside the area, minutes before rattling the post with a long-range strike in Basel's hard-fought 1-1 Swiss League draw at Aarau. Mohamed Elneny also started for Basel but unlike his Egypt teammate Salah, who featured for the whole game, he was substituted in the 58th minute. Following a torrid week that saw him concede a harsh league penalty against Tottenham before missing the decisive spot kick in the League Cup defeat against the Londoners, Ahmed Elmohamady played full 90 minutes in Hull's 1-0 win over Sunderland. Elmohamady faced his old club - who were reduced to nine men in the match - as he had a hand in the dismissal of English midfielder Lee Cattermole, who committed a cynical foul against the Egyptian to receive his marching orders. Despite making Hull's Premier League roster for the second straight game, Geddo is still waiting for a chance to make his league debut although he featured in the League Cup defeat at Spurs, almost scoring his first goal of the season in extra time. Geddo chance followed by Spurs goal After netting three goals in as many games for Luzern, Mahmoud 'Kahraba' was replaced with 15 minutes left in the 3-0 Swiss league defeat to Sion, a match that saw him score again before the goal was ruled out for offside. Ahmed Hassan 'Koka' could only come on as a 68th minute substitute in Rio Ave's 1-0 away league win over Sporting Braga in Portugal. In another Liga Sagres match, defender Ali Ghazal was handed a straight red card two minutes from the half-hour mark in Nacional's goalless stalemate with Olhanense. In Belgium, Egypt midfielder Hossam Ghaly played full match in Lierse's win over Charleroi as he was booked one minute from the end of regular time. Although he made his Lierse bow just a week before, young forward Ahmed Yasser was confined to the bench throughout the Belgian league win. Ibrahim Salah remained a regular for Saudi league newcomers Orouba but made way in the 62nd minute in the 2-0 defeat at Najran.
