Ahmed Samir Farag was another Egyptian to take part in Lierse's cup triumph but was substituted eight minutes from the end of regular time
Ghaly and Farag, however, couldn't help Lierse avoid an expected 2-0 league defeat at giants Anderlecht few days later, despite featuring for the whole game.
In England, Ahmed Elmohamady produced his best performance for Hull City so far this season, whipping in the cross that resulted in his side's penalty that handed them a 1-0 league win over West Ham.
Despite making his Hull returning debut in the League Cup win over Huddersfield, Geddo sat out the West Ham game.
Mohamed Elneny made his comeback in Basel's draw after finally shaking off a shoulder injury to come on as an 82nd minute substitute.
Another Egyptian to see his side frustrated to a draw was Mahmoud ‘Kahraba', who played the last four minutes of Luzern's 1-1 home stalemate with Thun.
In the English Championship, Egypt defender Adam El-Abd still couldn't change his fringe status for Brighton after warming the bench throughout the 2-0 defeat at Ipswich Town.
Two Egyptians were on the pitch in Portugal, as Ahmed Hassan ‘Koka's Rio Ave slipped to a 3-0 Liga Sagres home loss to Ali Ghazal's Nacional, with the Egyptian duo featuring for the full game.
Even though Kuwaiti side Al-Salmiya registered a 3-0 league victory over Al-Sulaibikhat, Amr Zaki was not on the score sheet despite taking part in the match.
In Saudi Arabia, Ibrahim Salah retained his place in Orouba's starting line-up as the Saudi outfit played out a goalless stalemate at Al-Fateh
