Dutch manager Ruud Krol will be in charge of Tunisia in the World Cup qualifying playoffs. The veteran coach has been hired by the Tunisians to replace Nabil Maaloul, who stepped down following the defeat to Cape Verde. Despite losing to Cape Verde in a decisive group match, Tunisia were fortunate to be in the final playoffs after the result had been annulled by FIFA. Krol's main assignment will be leading the Carthage Eagles against former African champions Cameroon in the two-legged final playoffs. The former Holland star had several spells in North Africa during his career, inclduing two stints with Zamalek and a short tenure as Egypt manager in 1996.
