Mohamed Salah helped Basel claim a 6-2 aggregate victory over Bulgaria's Ludogorets to secure a berth in the UEFA Champions League group stage. Two goals from Fabian Frei and Phillip Degen either side of the break ensured the qualification of Basel, who entered the game on a 4-2 first-leg lead. Despite putting in a virtuoso performance in the away leg, Egypt star Mohamed Salah was kept at bay in the second leg, having notched two vital goals in Bulgaria. He was substituted with 20 minutes left as compatriot Mohamed Elneny warmed the bench throughout the game. The Champions League group stage draw takes place on Thursday in Monaco.
