Mohamed Salah steered Basel closer to the UEFA Champions League group stage with two well-taken goals in the 4-2 victory at Ludogorets of Bulgaria. The Egypt forward opened the scoring with a stunning 12th minute volley but did not celebrate his goal. Marcelinho and Ivan Stoyanov overturned the scoreline for Ludogorets but the outstanding Salah put Basel back in the game with another great finish on the hour mark. Once again, Salah didn't seem overjoyed with his vital equalizer, which was followed by a goal from newcomer Giovanni Sio. The on-fire Salah capped his man-of-the-match performance when he earned an 84th minute penalty, allowing Fabian Schar to hit the fourth. Basel now have the upper hand when they host the Bulgarian champions next week for a place in the 32-team group stage. Salah goals
