Malaga-bound Mohamed Ibrahim asserted he would never leave Zamalek without the club's consent amid speculation that he may head to Spain. Speculation was rife that the 21-year-old - who vowed to leave Zamalek this summer - could fly to Malaga without his club's approval after he had asked the management for his passport. However, Ibrahim revealed another reason for his request, stressing that he ‘is under contract' with Zamalek. "I didn't ask for my passport to flee the club without permission," Ibrahim told Zamalek's website. "I needed my passport as it would serve as an ID amid the current political instability in Egypt. "I refused before to leave the club that way as I don't like it. I respect my contract with Zamalek." It is believed that Ibrahim is keen to experience European football after being approached by several clubs including Romania's Vaslui and Swiss side Sion. The Malaga offer, however, seemed the serious one as the La Liga outfit had reportedly offered €400,000, even so Zamalek asking for more to sell their prized asset. Other reports suggest that Zamalek's reluctance to let go of their star forward is because of their critical position in the Champions League, rather than financial reasons.
