FIFA has announced lifting its global ban on Cameroon for government interference. The decision was made after a normalization committee was allowed to run the Cameroon football federation, which was FIFA's condition on lifting the ban. The ruling allows Cameroon to continue their World Cup qualifying campaign, which will see them clash against Libya away next month in a decisive final game. The Indomitable Lions have been handed a massive boost by FIFA as they were awarded the three points of their defeat to Benin, which put them on top of their group ahead of Libya. Meanwhile, FIFA's ban lift also means that Cameroonian side Cotonsport are free to begin their CAF Champions League campaign after failing to play the opener against Sewe Sport.
