Cameroon have been handed three points in the World Cup qualifiers but their football federation (Fecafoot) was provisionally suspended by FIFA. FIFA's suspension decision comes "on account of government interference" related to the Cameroon federation's presidential elections last month. "The FIFA statutes oblige member associations to manage their affairs independently and with no influence from third parties," A FIFA statement read. Meanwhile the Cameroonians have been handed a major boost in their bid to qualify for the 2014 World Cup as their 2-0 defeat to Togo was overturned by FIFA. The Indomitable Lions were declared winners as Togo ineligibly fielded midfielder Alexis Romao. With one game remaining, the crucial victory sends Cameroon top of Group I at the expense of Libya, who are now one point behind.
