Cameroon veteran defender Raymond Kalla has been ruled out of his side's African Cup of Nations (ACN) campaign through injury. The 31-year-old defender received that news from doctors in Paris who told him that he will need no less than 15 days to fully recover from a serious cramp in his legs. "I'm disappointed I can't continue to play for my country in Egypt," Kalla told BBC Sport on Monday. "But I'm going to stay with my team in order to keep the good spirit and motivation alive," he added. Kalla picked up the injury in Cameroon's last Group B match against DR Congo that ended 2-0 for the Indomitable Lions. The Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) had earlier asked Kalla to retract from his decision to quit international football before their 2006 World Cup qualifier against Ivory Coast. Cameroon will also play against Ivory Coast in the African Cup quarter-final encounter that will take place on Friday.
