Ali have appointed Mohamed Youssef as an interim manager in place of Hossam Al-Badri, the Egyptian champions announced. Former defender Youssef, who has been working as an assistant to Al-Badri, will be in charge until the end of the domestic season. The 42-year-old is set for his first experience as a head coach, having been a member of Ahli's staff during the reigns of Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Shafi, Manuel Jose and Al-Badri. His first challenge will be against mid-table Bani Suef Telephones on Wednesday. Disappointed Meanwhile, Ahli issued a strong statement criticizing Al-Badri's decision to quit midway through the season. “The Ahli football committee expresses utter disappointment for the irresponsible manner of Hossam Al-Badri," the statement read. “Al-Badri's decision to quit before the end of the season is not the act of one of Ahli's sons." Al-Badri's leaves Ahli on top of the Egyptian Premier League Group A, two points clear of ENPPI.
