Ahli are comfortably leading by three goals against Tusker of Kenya as the home fans torched the stands with fireworks before half time. Ahmed Abdul-Zaher's early goal was followed by another from Emad Meteb near the half time whistle, seconds before a load of canisters were lit by the Ahli fans. One of the canisters appeared to be a few yards in front of Tusker keeper Boniface Oluoch as Meteb hit his goal. Gabonese referee Eric Otogo-Castane stopped the match for a few minutes as Tusker players protested after Meteb's goal. Nearly two years ago, Ahli were fined and ordered to play one match behind closed doors by CAF for a similar incident against ZESCO United. The Cairo club welcomed back their ultras group ‘Ultras Ahlawy' for the round of 32 second leg, with the home fans reportedly exceeding the maximum allowed number of 3000. The defending champions are now leading 4-1 on aggregate.
