Egypt succumbed to a third straight defeat by losing 2-1 to Chile in a friendly match in Madrid.
Two quick second-half goals by Eduardo Vargas and Carlos Carmona lifted the Chileans, with Mohamed Salah netting a late consolation for Egypt.
The Pharaohs, who heavily lost to Ghana and Ivory Coast last month, continue to gear up for the World Cup qualifier against Zimbabwe in March.
Bob Bradley named a strong side despite surprisingly dropping Essam Al-Hadari to the bench and starting with Sherif Ekrami in goal behind Wael Gomaa and Adam El-Abd.
Veteran Gomaa captained the team in his 109th cap while Ahmed Shedid was given a rare start in left back, with Ahmed Fathi on the other flank.
In midfield, Hosni Abd-Rabou, Mohamed Al-Nenni and Mohamed Abou-Treika played behind attack trio Ahmed Temsah, Mohamed Salah and Geddo.
