CAIRO- Eight Egyptians were killed when three cars collided on a road north of Cairo, police said Sunday. The accident occurred when a trailer rammed into a pick-up vehicle and a private car on the Belbeis road, north of Cairo. Three others were injured in the mishap, whose cause has yet to be determined. Road accidents in Egypt are among the world's highest. They are mainly due to reckless driving. In August 2008, Egypt enforced a new traffic code involving tougher penalities.
