JOHANNESBURG - Michael Bradley, son of USA coach Bob, scored in the 82nd minute to help his country salvage a 2-2 draw with Slovenia in the World Cup group stage on Friday. Slovenia sized a two-goal advantage in the first half but their opponents roared back to form after the break to cancel out their lead. Valter Birsa opened the scoring after 13 minutes with a delightful curling shot from outside the area, after USA keeper Tim Howard unreasonably advanced forward. Zlatan Ljubijankic doubled Slovenia's lead when he beat the offside trap to go one-on-one with the goalie and slot home with aplomb in injury time. Three minutes after the interval, USA's Landon Donovan reduced the arrears after penetrating the area and notching up a sensational goal from close range with a clinical finish that hit the roof of the net. Bradley sent the USA fans into raptures eight minutes from time when came unmarked to score the equalizer from close range. The referee disallowed a third goal for the North American side for no apparent reason. TV replays left no doubt that it was a legitimate goal. From Group C too, England will take on Algeria later on the same day. None of the group's four teams have secured qualification for the round of 16 so far.
