The El-Arish International Airport in Egypt's northern Sinai closed on Wednesday after unverified information on the presence of explosives reached Egyptian security forces. Flight arrivals and departures and all other activity in the airport has come to a halt, security sources and witnesses told the German Press Agency (dpa). Security forces accompanied by explosives experts are searching the airport. The investigation is reportedly in response to a telephone call received by security officers, informing them of the presence of several bombs in the airport.
