Egypt's General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) said on Friday it had bought 75,500 tonnes of rice from the local market through a tender. Nomani Nomani, vice chairman of GASC, said in a statement the price range was 1,775-1,889 Egyptian pounds per tonne and the quantity was due to be supplied to consumers under the subsidy programme between June 1 and June 21.
