The body of an Egyptian oil engineer killed in Nigeria last week will arrive in Cairo tonight as the Foreign Ministry said it was following investigations into his murder. "The Egyptian consulate in Abuja did its best and succeeded to fasten the procedures, which were expected to end on Monday due to the weekly vacation in Nigeria," Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Mohamed Abdel Hakam said on Saturday. Abdel Hakam added that the body of engineer Sami Barakat, who used to work for an international oil company, will be handed over to his relatives upon arrival at the Cairo International Airport. Barakat and three other non-Egyptian colleagues were killed in Nigeria's volatile area of Niger Delta when their convoy came under fire by unidentified gunmen. Meanwhile, Abdel Hakam said the Egyptian consulate in Saudi Arabia had learned from Saudi officials that an Egyptian physician was detained there for "security reasons". "We have managed to get a permission for relatives of physician Abdel Aziz Moustafa to visit him. We trust the Saudi law," Abdel Hakam said. The People's Assembly (the Lower House of the Egyptian Parliament)will Sunday discuss a new bill to care for Egyptian expatriates. The law will help draw a roadmap for preserving the rights and interests of Egyptians abroad.
