I have recently seen a ghost and the very interesting story I will tell you about that incident is truly stranger than fiction. Since this is a very personal matter, I will not reveal the names of those who were involved in it and instead I'll use more suitable names. Last week, I went home one evening after a very tiring day and since I was starving, I was hoping to eat, have coffee and watch a good movie before going to sleep. Things don't always go the way we plan – I received a call from my very good friend "Sanneya MacLaine," who has been living abroad for almost two years. She was in tears and could hardly speak. She told me that she received a message from an anonymous person, telling her that someone we both know and here I will call him "James Bond" just died in a car crash! The poor girl was in shock and wanted me to check if this was true. To tell you the truth, I freaked out. I've known "James Bond" for many years and I felt as if someone hit me on the head with a heavy object. I asked her to hang up and called him… I tried his two cell phones more than once but they were switched off, so I tried calling some of our mutual friends, but since it was quite late no one answered. Finally "E" did and told me that "Sanneya MacLaine" contacted him too. He called "James Bond" and when he couldn't get through he tried calling his mother, but her cell phone as well was off and their landline phone was out of service, which means it was most probably off the hock! Then I started having doubts… I thought "James Bond" might be playing a kind of a very silly and mean game – some kind of a disappearing act to make "Sanneya MacLaine" worry about him because he was imposing himself on her as a lover, although she made it clear that she only thinks of him as a friend. Besides, when people have bad news they break them gently and don't just send them in a message from an anonymous number without revealing the sender's identity. In spite of these doubts, I was still worried so I decided to go and see if his car was parked, in one piece, in front of his house. When I got there, I couldn't find the car where he always parks it – he has his own parking space and to stop others from using it he uses a big iron chain. I asked the genitors there and they said they haven't seen him that evening! I really freaked out this time and didn't know what to do. On my way back home I went through the main street and suddenly I saw his car, in an excellent condition, parked… or should I say hidden far away from his house! "E" was on the phone with me at the time and told me that our friend "H" told him that he was at work with "James Bond" till 9:30 p.m. and that the latter was going home after a long day. Hours later, I went home past that road as well and there was no sign of an accident. I told "E" that no one has access to the car keys except "James Bond". It was also strange to know that the three mobiles and landline phone were "accidentally" off at the same time. Anyway, I called "Sanneya MacLaine" and assured her that "James Bond" is alive and kicking. The poor girl has been having serious health problems for many years and the last thing she needed was such a shock. I woke up the following day and realised that our "late" acquaintance called me twice, so I returned the call and asked him if he was aware of what we went through the night before. He calmly said "it was a much sillier incident than you can imagine. I have a friend who lives in the same country "Sanneya MacLaine" lives in and he had a friend who happens to be called "James Bond," who died in car crash last night. My friend's brother wanted to tell him about the accident and accidentally sent the SMS to "Sanneya MacLaine" by mistake." Let me tell you that very few people have her number and of course they don't include the brother of her friend's friend! It also didn't make any sense to me that in the process of sending the SMS, this man entered a 14-digit number instead of searching for his brother's number, which must be saved on his cell phone. Of course "James Bond" solved the mystery by saying that the man was in tears and didn't know what he was doing! The "departed," previously known as "James Bond," must have been innocently sleeping like an angel when all this happened and after waking up he somehow found out about it. He also managed to get the number and, according to him, called up a very high security authority, which has nothing to do with such incidents. They found out the identity of the message sender and revealed it to "James Bond"! I never knew how powerful and influential he is, but ghosts are capable of doing anything as we all know! He added that he personally called the man and realised that he is the brother of a friend. That sender was still crying his heart out and apologised to "James Bond". He also offered to call everyone this slight mistake might have caused any inconvenience to and apologise to them, but "James Bond" told him that there was no need to do so. He was "dead" serious about that part of the story too. On the following day, I bumped into him and it was a very scary experience because I'm not used to seeing ghosts. Frankly, I treated him like one… in other words I pretended I couldn't see him! I was later told that he called "Sanneya MacLaine" and gave her a hard time because she told me about the SMS she received. He chose me out of all the people who heard the story because, as a friend told me, he knew I would expose him. Since his sudden "Death" Mr. "James Bond" has been inspiring us with countless jokes. At least we got to laugh about something. All those who were mentioned in this story are in the music business. With guys like "James Bond," I believe I should stay away from this "ghost-infested field". I don't have much space left, but before I go I will tell you about a couple of songs that would perfectly fit in the soundtrack to that new "James Bond" movie. The best choice will be "He's A Liar" by the Bee Gees. I have nothing more to add to the title – nothing could describe this character in a better way! If you prefer a rock ballad, then I strongly recommend Bon Jovi's "Lie to Me". However, he doesn't need any advice – he is doing really fine without Bon Jovi's suggestions. I wanted to include Fleetwood Mac's "Little Lies" but the word "little" doesn't suit the situation, so let's close the subject. Send me Ghost Busters to: [email protected]
