Egyptian youngsters won 21 more medals in the African Weightlifting Championship on Monday night in Cairo: 15 golds, three silvers and three bronzes. The event, which runs until Friday, serves as a qualifier for the Singapore Youth Olympics 2010 this summer. In the men's competitions, Mohamed Abdel-Salam won three golds in the 62kg category, while his compatriots Dina Mohamed and Shaimaa Gamal collected three golds and three bronzes respectively in the 58kg category in the women's competitions. Amani Youssri and Nani Ibrahim Mohamed won three golds and three silvers respectively in the 69kg category on Monday night, while Shaimaa Mohamed Omar and Amal Mohamed Mahmoud each bagged three golds in the 63kg category. In another competition, which also serves as a qualifier for the Singapore Youth Olympics 2010, Egypt will compete tomorrow in the African Shooting Championship in Algeria. The event includes South Africa, Tunisia, Libya, Morocco and Cameroon.
