THE Cairo-based Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture (MACIC), this week organised, in co-operation with the Egyptian-India Friendship Association, a lecture titled “India-Egypt Relations: Challenges and Opportunities”. The main speaker was Moustafa el-Fekki, the Chairman of Foreign Affairs committee of the People's Assembly (the Lower House of the Parliament). The lecture was attended by Ali Eddin Helal, the President of Egyptian-Indian Friendship Association, Ambassador of India R. Gopinathan (pictured left); Suchitra Durai, the Director of Indian Culture, as well as senior Egyptian diplomats, senior journalists, academicians, Indian businessmen, and Egyptian scholars. Fekki (appearing in the centre) served in the Egyptian Embassy in New Delhi during 1980s. The lecture revolved around how Egypt can benefit from the Indian experiments in fields of education and technology.
