CAIRO - The Maulana Azad Centre for Indian Culture and the Embassy of India in Cairo in co-operation with the Governorate of Aswan and the South Valley University branch in the Upper Egyptian city of Aswan concludes Wednesday an "India Week" which started on December 18. The celebrations have been part of the outreach activities of the Embassy in different governorates of Egypt. The event was jointly inaugurated by Major General Moustafa el-Sayed, the Governor of Aswan and the Ambassador of India to Egypt R. Swaminathan. The activities included a talk on India-Egypt relations by the Indian Ambassador at the Governorate Conference Hall, Arous El Nile; an interactive session with the students of the South Valley University, a photo exhibition on India-Egypt relations, a display of books related to India, an Indian tea tasting session at the Aqaud Library, Yoga lecture-cum-demonstration and a daily screening of Hindi movies with Arabic subtitles. The Ambassador of India also interacted with members of the Aswan Chamber of Commerce and discussed the potential for enhancing Indo-Egypt trade co-operation.
